The elderly population in South Hillsborough County, Florida is growing rapidly. Census data shows over 20% of our residents are now aged 65 or older – a 12% increase in just the last decade. As we grow older, even basic self-care and household tasks can become overwhelming obstacles. Nearly 1 in 5 seniors struggle with mobility limitations that make bathing, grooming, cleaning and laundry incredibly difficult without assistance. 

 

At Inspirational Hope, Inc., our mission is to provide support that allows our most vulnerable seniors to maintain their independence, health, hygiene and dignity. However, we urgently need community support in the form of in-kind donations of basic personal care and household items.   

 

Our top needs include: 

- Shower gel, shampoo, conditioner 

- Razors, deodorant 

- Socks 

- Toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash   

- Laundry detergent 

- Household cleaning supplies 

-Food, and clothing

 

For a senior living alone on a fixed income, these essentials are often out of reach. A shocking 15% of county seniors currently face food insecurity and lack of proper nutrition. But the need extends far beyond just food - 22% have skipped medical treatments due to unreliable transportation.   

 

With your donations of these crucial hygiene, grooming and household items, we can ensure that no elderly person goes without necessities of life and self-care aids. Your support provides the dignity of maintaining cleanliness, oral health and basic comforts that so many take for granted. 

 

As our senior population continues surging, the demand for these supplies will only grow. Please give generously of any of the listed items. Let our oldest neighbors know their community has not forgotten or abandoned them during this challenging phase of life. Together we can make South Hillsborough County, Florida a place where our elders truly receive the care and dignity they deserve.
